This annual award is open to New Zealand journalists who've covered international development in the Asia-Pacific region between September 2015 and September 2016.

The winner will receive a seven-day research trip to Timor-Leste in 2017 to look at ongoing development projects and explore in more detail the development issues facing Asia-Pacific communities. Subject to agreement, the winning article will be published in VSA’s magazine Vista and on www.vsa.org.nz.
