Cyclone Pam Update, Sunday 8.30am

Published on 15th March 2015

No new news, but some more background. All our volunteers and staff in Port Vila and Santo confirmed safe (19 of 23 people total). We also have volunteers on the islands of Pentecost, Malekula and Tanna, where communications are still down. All volunteers were in secure accommodation with extra supplies before the cyclone hit and we were in constant communication. We are keeping their families up to date. Our thoughts are with our volunteers and the people of Vanuatu.

The VSA Facebook page is also carrying updates.

In Central Otago,NZ they are taking donations at Seasonal Solutions for a container with water purification equipment and pumps and supplies for the people of Vanuatu. All contributions welcome and needed. The Alexandra Baptist church is also fundraising for the people there.

  • Keith Woodcock on 15th March

As a former VSA volunteer in Vanuatu in 1987 under cyclone Uma reconstruction how can we provide a donation to VSA Vanuatu for Cyclone Pam relief. We feel this is urgent.
