Tim Beaglehole, VSA Life Member, passes away

Published on 24th July 2015

Renowned Wellington historian and VSA life member Tim Beaglehole, 82, passed away suddenly in Wellington on 18 July 2015.

A former chancellor of Victoria University, Beaglehole was Deputy Chair of the VSA Council from 1971-73, Chair from 1974-75, and a member of VSA selection panels for more than 35 years.

In February 2003, when proposing his life membership, Carolyn Mark (then VSA's Volunteer Recruitment Manager) noted that he was still a donor, member, and regular attendee of VSA events in Wellington, and that he more than filled the life membership criteria for loyal service over a period of time.

Beaglehole’s funeral was at Old St Paul's in Wellington on 24 July. VSA extends its deepest sympathy to his wife Helen and their family.
